Bio
Fiona is the daughter of a self-admitted tone-deaf mother and an Irish father whose stage fright disappears only when singing Moulin Rouge in the privacy of his own home. Fiona began performing at the relatively late age of 15, when her best friend dragged her unwillingly to an advanced tap class. Needless to say, she stood in the back of the class and had no idea what she was doing. After weeks of practicing daily to catch up with the rest of the tap dancers, Fiona performed on stage for the very first time -- in front of thousands of people at Chattanooga's annual Grand Illumination Christmas on the River. It was this very night that she promised herself she would perform for the rest of her life. And so far, she has kept that promise.
After taking part in as many musicals as she could, Fiona decided to transfer to Chattanooga High School Center for Creative Arts to pursue her newfound passion under the direction of one of Chattanooga's most beloved theatre teachers, Allan Ledford. At CCA, she majored in musical theatre and was cast in the Choo Choo Kids, an elite musical theatre touring troupe. Upon graduation, Fiona attended Chattanooga State's 2-year Professional Actor Training Program. In the rigorous daily schedules of the PATP, Fiona was given ample opportunities to develop her acting skills, learn about technical elements of theatre, train extensively in improvisation, and perform frequently. She was lucky enough to be taught by incredible professors, including program directors and endless vaults of helpful knowledge, Rex Knowles and Sherry Landrum; Lindsay Fussell, who has overseen Fiona's theatre career since that first terrifying tap class; Garry Posey, Producing Partner of the Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga to whom Fiona gratefully credits her first professional performances; and voice instructor Jeff Parker, who unwittingly has the misfortune to serve as her career and life mentor. Fiona graduated from the PATP in 2012.
In the Fall of 2012, Fiona transferred to the University of Memphis to pursue a BFA in Musical Theatre. There, she studied under professors Jacob Allen, Bob Hetherington, Stephen Hancock, and more. She was privileged to be in the MainStage productions of The Threepenny Opera, Chess, and Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up? as well as the Studio productions of And the World Goes Round and Damn Yankees. Fiona graduated from the University of Memphis in 2014 and is currently pursuing a career in musical theatre.
